These are the stories of the American Police Veterans.

America made a promise to take care of those that have protected America.   That promise wasn't broken.  It was empty  words.   Some of those words were turned into laws, where they were ignored.   America Thinks that retired and disabled law enforcement officers are living large at the expense of the taxpayer.   Read their stories.  Then decide for yourself.   Who is paying the ultimate price for safe American communities.

Average Age of Members Startling!. A quick read puts the average well under 50 with the oldest at 62 and the youngest at 42. All retired and most are disabled. It really indicated to me the need for activating members of the retired and disabled community. Isolation is a major contributing factor to healthfulness and mortality.

Our personal, social and political isolation could be killing us prematurely. One more good reason to organize for adequate benefits that will last us a lifetime and for our social health. This is a good reason that the Social Security windfall (WEP) should be reconsidered for public safety personnel.

We don't do careers, we don't reach our earning potential compared to the public at large. That's my take.

I was medically retired at age 36. I know of others who have gone out at even younger ages.
