These are the stories of the American Police Veterans.
America made a promise to take care of those that have protected America. That promise wasn't broken. It was empty words. Some of those words were turned into laws, where they were ignored. America Thinks that retired and disabled law enforcement officers are living large at the expense of the taxpayer. Read their stories. Then decide for yourself. Who is paying the ultimate price for safe American communities.
"I had found myself abandoned and alone. I had been abandoned by my partners, my department and my union. The injuries that had ended my career paled in comparison to the injuries inflicted by the hostilities that I next encountered. There was no one there. I was never so alone. I went to a Blue Mass during Police Memorial Week seeking peace. The Priest was a Police Chaplain. I sat there as they prayed for all those that died in performance of their duties. They prayed for all those that serve. For the veterans there was not a word. The disabled and others who survived the job recieved not a word, thought or prayer.
I felt that I surely had been abandoned by my GOD, until I thought... Forgive them, they know not what they do!"
