For the past few years as Christmas rolls around I have written a reflection on Christmas Holidays.
Each year it has become a bit more upsetting to write, as the events in our country become even more upsetting than the years before. This year has been one of having our fellow Brother's and Sister's in Law Enforcement who are Active Duty or Permanently Paralyzed and Disabled for Life, to really take a big look at the whole picture of what is happening in our country we call America.
Law Enforcement Departments across the board are having to cut corners to maintain the basic services as funds continue to be cut. Still expecting to have all Active Duty Law Enforcement Officers to Protect and Serve with Honor the citizens in their Town's, Cities, States and Federal Government Agencies. Permanently Paralyzed and Disabled Law Enforcement Officers from being Hit In The Line of Duty have not a clue how one will survive. Social Service Programs from the Federal and State Governments have been cut to the bone and still we our expected to live? 'Twas The Night Before Past Christmas' appears to be another night before the next. The celebration of Christmas, Hanukah and Kwanzaa are running low on funds and celebration. Medicare and Medicaid are being cut for the Poor of America. Food Stamps are being cut for the Poor of America. Fuel Assistance is being cut for the Poor of America to a tune of over $54 Billion dollars.
We have a reverse process of Robin Hood happening in real time. Instead of Robin Hood taking from the 1% Rich and giving to the Poor, Robin Hood has been kidnapped at gun point by the NRA and is being made to take from the Poor and give to the 1% Rich. Does anyone see what is wrong with this picture? I surely do and so do over 1 Million Paralyzed and Disabled Law Enforcement Officers and our families and significant others in America. When America was founded as a 'Democracy ruled as a Republic' we have seen the wishes and what our Founding Fathers of America gave of their life, totally destroyed as never before. It has only taken 5 years to have seen this process happen. As major Corporations now run America and have all the people they want in place. They are represented by appointment of President George W. Bush, then you know America is in a major crisis. It has always been the Poor helping the Poor in America. Oh you will see Corporations doing token acts of help. It surely comes with a price tag that surely benefit the Corporations than those they really help. Have you ever attempted to put a thread through the eye of a needle? This Christmas, Hanukah and Kwanzaa are attempting to celebrate. I wonder what is really being celebrated. Past memories of times when we lived in America as Free Americans?
Oh, can we ever recall those past years. Are we expected to live off past memories to maintain in a society today that denies us joyful future memories? As Americans are being listened to on our phones, having our e-mails printed out and read, our postal mail opened up, brings a new meaning to 'Twas The Night Before Past Christmas'. Only by the paranoid mind of President George W. Bush wanting complete power, have we seen the legal system of America torn down to it's lowest form of McCarthyism full blown in America. Not even our United States Justice Department can be trusted to represent American Citizens Legal Rights when the U.S. Attorney General supports spying on it's own citizens. As America lives in the 'Allusion of Democracy ruled as a Republic', we must remember this is also a memory we can recall of past years. When we allow high tech to replace freedoms each time someone buys a cell phone. When we have LED Screens in Cars and Commercial Vehicles to tell us how we get to a location in directions and being monitored from Space. When we have the Internet that is tapped into of what we write or send in e-mails, then you have to realize there is a major price to be paid with our freedoms. Those in power have seized upon this opportunity. In 2002 in secret, a Presidential Order by President George W. Bush was signed in the dark of the night to Spy on it's own American Citizens 24/7. Surely American citizens are not hoodwinked to think this was done for our Freedom to be protected against who, Terrorist? Has anyone seen any terrorist? Anyone seen any Terrorist acts against America? Surely 9/11 was not something a Terrorist from Iraq caused to happen. Has anyone done a security check on President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, former Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Former Secretary of State Collen Powell? Surely these government employees would not pass any security clearance or surveillance any American Citizen would be subjected to. This being the case, we have the Foxes guarding the Hen Houses in a Democracy to have been ruled as a true Republic. I remember the old 'Cold War' and it lasted for 50 years. It was not ended by President Reagan calling to have a wall torn down. It took millions and millions of Human Lives and over 50 years to have the 'Cold War' to come to an end. Now we have in America a new beginning of a 'Cold War' happening against it's own American citizens. When a country is a 'Democracy Ruled as a True Republic', you do not contemplate about those in Government spying on it's own citizens illegally. Then that is a memory of past years as we recall, "Twas The Night Before Past Christmas and Only A Spy In The House Now Stirring'.
Merry Christmas? Happy Hanukah? Happy Kwanzaa? Can we really think in the coming year of 2006, 'Happy New Year'? Democracy Ruled as a True Republic is being ignored and put to the side lines. It has been reported to be stored away in a Smithsonian storage building in Maryland or Virginia, awaiting to appear once again. For security reasons it's exact location can not be disclosed. When the 'Cold War' on American Citizens has stopped, will it only then be safe for 'Democracy Ruled as a True Republic' to appear again. Then we can all say, "Welcome Back America, I knew you when." Until then, "Happy Holiday's America"?
